In the October, Leslee and I took a ten-day course at the Great Lakes School of Log Building in Isabella, Minnesota. Our instructor Ron Brodigan was incredible and we were blessed with a great group of people with which to learn the tricks of the trade.

Leslee working the tag line as we put the roof trusses on our building.

Peter and Jude nailing a temporary truss support after it was lowered by crane.

Ron lowering another round of logs. We prepared the logs ont the ground and then did the scribing and notching on the structure.

Our instructor Ron showing us how it's done. Ron wields a chainsaw like a painter paints.

Terry scribing a log. We used the Scandanavian scribe-fit method where you trace the contours of each log onto the next for a perfect fit.

Jude eases a truss into place. It's being lifted by a crane.

After the class was over, Jude got to work the log loader. Cool!

Leslee and Terry. Terry has a cute new baby.

Gabe from Iowa. Gabe was a special person and we were glad to be in his special person's club.

Chopping down trees! This one was a close one.
