Leslee and I took a little "vacation from our
vacation" to join our friends Joey and Suzanne on a road trip. In
March, 2004, we drove the entire Baja Peninsula from Tijuana to Cabo San
Lucas and back again. It was the trip of a lifetime...or at least until
September when we plan to do it again!

After a night drive through Tijuana, we awoke here -- Playa
Saldamando-- just north of Ensenada.

 |
In Cataviña, we camped next
to the gigantic cardón cacti. They grow 60 feet
tall.

companion, Suzanne.

In Bahía Concepción,
we snorkeled and camped on a white sand beach.
|
 |
For a welcome break from camping, we stayed
in our friends Mitch and Leslie's beautiful home in Loreto.

Our campsite in the wild near Aqua Verde.
No one in sight, except the pelicans. |

The surf coming in at San Pedrito,
where we camped for almost a week. |

Leslee in Cataviña looking
at the cirio, skinny trees that grow to 30 feet found
only within 150 miles.
|
 |
Leslee and I wandered around San Ignacio,
a quiet mission town with great local date bread.

A pelican coming home from work in Aqua Verde.

Moonrise in Cabo Pulmo, another
beach that we shared with only a handful of locals.
