  Cool Side Trips!
  Roadside Wonders

In the late summer, Leslee and I headed up from Seattle through British Columbia and the Yukon to Alaska. We climbed a lot of glaciers, took hikes in grizzly country, and ate copius amounts of salmon. We returned to the Lower 48 through the Canadian Rockies dropping down into North Dakota and Minnesota.

A wolf kill? Roadside sights in the Yukon.

Bear Glacier near Hyder, Alaska, a little jump into SE Alaska as we headed up the highway.

A beautiful lake along the Cassiar Highway.

The top of a strenuous hike in Kluane National Park, "Canada's Denali"

An abandoned gold mine that we explored. Looks inviting, huh?

The Kendall motoring at sundown in the bay outside Seward, AK.

The view from the crow's nest of the Kendall. See the Jelly fish? They were everywhere.

Leslee's Dad, Glenn, working the lines on the Kendall.

Returning to Canada, the view from Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.

Our trashed interior after a long ride on the Alaska Highway.

The End of the Line for Spawning Salmon in Fish Creek near Hyder, Alaska. We a huge brown bear nearby.

Varmit on the trail on a hike in Kluane National Park in Canada.

The happy hikers.
