  Cool Side Trips!
  Roadside Wonders

At the beginning of end of June 2004, we finished our mobile dream home. Here are some of the pictures of our completed wonder wagon. This project was made possible with the trust and understanding of our families and many, many old and new friends. On July 4th, we declared our independence and launched the next big phase of our trip, the part where we actually go.

The view from the rear-view mirror, the trailer on the road.

Deep thoughts while cutting the granite with the wet saw.

My favorite part of the new trailer, the glass tile vanity that Leslee designed and built.

This is the right-hand side of the kitchen. We put stainless steel on the back, most of it donated by a friend who manufactures taco trucks.

Here's Jude putting the finishing touches on the bathroom and pantry frame.

This was the left-side sink during construction.

We rebuilt the closet completely, using the original as a template.

The bed was also a complete redesign. This is originally where the bathroom was...that little decision cost us months of work. Our first night's sleep made it all worth it.

new rig.

This is pantry on the right-hand side as you enter the trailer as it was under construction.

Jude unveiling the left-side of the kitchen, the stovetop is original but we modified the counter, overheads, frame, and sink area dramatically.

This could have been Jude's favorite power tool, using the grinder to champfer stainless edges for the counter.

This is the new bathroom, mostly completed. Notice the new cork floors. Leslee laid 'em.
Without these guys we never would have finished. The Lucero's house was our home base while we finished...for two months!   With Grandpa and Grandma Lucero in front of the finished product,
Glenn Wells and Grandma Wells on the day before we left.   Our New Front Window, the decorations were a wedding present from our friends Forrest and Crystal.
